So do we have any more people claiming nuclear is safe or can we safely assume that stupid talk is over with for the rest of human existence?

Nuclear power is completely safe, there have only been a small number of nuclear disasters in history compared to the large number of coal plant explosions which happen on a daily basis, taking out entire cities and rendering them uninhabitable for decades.

^ Nuclear power is safe as long as Murphy's law does not occur.

Agreed.

If anything Fukushima is a vote for nuclear, remember it took a 9.5 quake and record tsunami to compromise 40 year old tech.

We can build much stronger facilities today.

But, we're kinda missing the whole storage of spent fuel problem yeah?

That said, there exists experimental tech which could render that problem moot.

How can something be "completely" safe when there are nuclear disasters occurring?

But nuclear disasters will take centuries to clean up. Also generally affect a MUCH larger area with contamination

I'm sure they will just raise the "acceptable radiation dose".

People dont care if they are being killed, as long are they are being killed slowly.

Yeah, I hear you.

My wife and I were just discussing it tonight, wondering about the people & what was going on with the Nuclear Power Plant situation.
