Pairing one stick Corsair Vengeance with one stick Vengeance Low Profile

Hi guys!

The situation: I recently built a computer utilizing 16Gb (4x4) Corsair Vengeance Ram. However, one stick did not fit under my oversized Hyper 212+ cooler, and I proceeded to mangle the top heatsinks to make fit it underneath (pliers and aviation snips) xD. The stick failed about a month later haha...and so I was wondering - is it possible to buy just a single Low Profile stick and put it underneath the cooler? It would be paired with a standard high heatsink Vengeance stick.

The specs on both are identical. SPD Latency: 9-9-9-24 •Tested Latency: 9-9-9-24 •Memory Type: DDR3 •Speed Rating: PC3-12800 (1600MHz) •Tested Speed: 1600Mhz

I have been scouring the internet and have yet to find a good answer for this. I know that mixing kits of RAM is reasonably safe if you mix kits with the same timings, latency, speed etc, yet I have not been able to see if it is ok to make a pairing within..a kit? If that makes sense. The stats are identical, and it's the same brand.

Computer specs if they help:
Intel i& 2600k
Hyper 212+ Heatsink (Push/Pull)
Asrock Extreme3 Gen3
16Gb Corsair Vengeance XMP 1600mhz RAM

-Thanks all!

P.S. My little brother purchased the same parts as I did, so when he constructs his I was planning on splitting up an 8Gb (4x2) Low Profile Kit and giving him one to fit underneath the CPU heatsink.

I could be wrong but IMO if the only difference in the 2 sticks are the height of the heat sinks, then im gonna say you are in the clear. But id wait for someone else to chyme in.

Should be fine dude. No different than buying two sets of RAM.

Motherboards can always be picky though.
