I would just like to comment that I am an odd brand supporter. I have a Cougar 1050w PSU in my rig and it's been awesome, it's always good to support brands that people don't know about. I bought a Zotac card when no one knew of them, I buy random brands just because it's nice to see them take off sometimes.

And that is why I am getting a Rosewill CAPSTONE 650-M for my next build. Modular, tighter voltage regulation than the TX series make it an amazing buy.

I had 2 coolermaster 650w power supplies fail on me both just after the warranty both the fans ate it.
I'll never buy another one if I can avoid it.

I saw the same kind of brand saturation in the early 00's. I was really into car audio and over the course of 2 or 3 years everyone was carrying Rockford Fosgate. It was like that for a few years, now you can't find it anywhere. You can but not physically in a store here. The name earns a cache and becomes easier for the retailer to sell so more places stock it and so on.

If I'm not mistaken Corsair psu's are Seasonic made.

Cheap sleeve-bearing fans? It happens.

btw out of Corsair's current lineup, CX V2, GS, TX-M, and HX (other than 650W) are made by Channel Well Tech, and AX1200 / AX1200i are from Flextronics. Most aren't Seasonic; that said, the ones from Seasonic aren't particularly better or worse in performance or price/performance. They're just one of several good options.

There is a very good point made here, there are some other great PSU's out there. But this should also be a message to manufacturers that if they want to compete, they need to make quality units, which applies to all hardware.
