Ok here's the thing I have just installed new memory ram yesterday 6GB DDR3 1600MHz (3x2GB) all was fine since yesterday and was showing 6GB ram. But today I checked under "System" in Windows and the memory is showing as 4GB. I have Windows 7 64 Bit Ultimate I have also checked to make sure that under "msconfig" maximum memory is not ticked and it is not. There is another interesting thing in Bio's and Windows system it is showing as 4GB but in the software CPU-Z in the memory tab and next to Size it says "6144" (6GB) also another thing I noted in Channels it says "Dual" even though this is a triple setup ? So what could be wrong why does it say Dual know? I mean it was showing as 6GB yesterday when I checked in Bio's and Windows System?

Re-seat your ram? Maybe a pin isn't signalling correctly. If that does not work then I would check your MB manual to see if it supports your current ram on their vendor list. Or maybe something in your BIOS. I am not familiar with triple channel setups myself.

Yep, it can. Vibrations from any/many sources can wiggle it free. Somewhere I have time lapse video showing ram sliding out of a MB because a customer didn't believe me that his ram was fine but was slipping out. It rarely happens but it does. Usually from a bump on the case or some such.
Though to be fair, most times the clips on the ram hold it in. Nothing is perfect.

Go to this post: http://www.overclock.net/t/662236/the-asus-p6x58d-premium-e-thread/0_100 Then scroll down to "RAM NOT WORKING? OR ISN'T DISPLAYING THE CORRECT AMOUNT? READ BELOW."
Of course I know the thread isn't about your motherboard but read it anyway. It will apply to all ASUS X58 platforms.
Good luck. None of it helped me but it has helped others.
You can also find most of this plus other things to try by searching the ASUS Forums.

I had the same issue. A Bios update fixed mines... but I also tried loosening the motherboard screws...

How much pressure do you have on the socket? It is a well known fact that socket pressure affects ram channels. Also, on my RAMPAGE II Extreme, when I overclock using the XMP profile, 2 GB disappear out of 6GB! I have never been able to solve this issue, instead I input the timings manually to prevent the 2GB disappearing.
