Gaming pads for MMOs? G13? Nostromo?

Thread Starter
I have been out of the MMO genre for about 5 years now and I am thinking of going back into it. Probably SWTOR, but that doesnt matter. So please don't start a thread war on how I shouldn't play it. I would like to know if a gaming pad is viable for MMORPGs, particularly for tanks.

The two pads I was looking at were the Logitech G13 and the Razer Nostromo.

Currently I am using an old (by old I mean about 6 years old) stock HP keyboard. It is fine for web browsing and some games, I was just wondering if it would be worth going to a game pad for MMOs.

Please post with your thoughts or experiences!
Thanks in advance! smile.gif

EDIT: I forgot to mention, I don't have any interest in a "gaming keyboard" unless you can make it seem much more viable than a regular keyboard and the gaming pad.

So I think I am going to grab a Logitech G13. Does anyone have any experiences with it?

I am looking for the good, the bad and the ugly tongue.gif

There are a bunch of videos on youtube about these, definitely check them.
http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=logitech+g13+vs+razer+nostromo&oq=logitech+g13&aq=2&aqi=g10&aql=&gs_sm=c&gs_upl=1697l5270l0l8249l12l11l0l3l3l0l164l681l5.3l8l0

I will say from using the old Nostromo that once set up, it is much more natural than using a keyboard, if you have to play fast through different combos. I guess it depends on how serious you will be or what will be needed for that game. Or even check out the Naga mouse with the 20 buttons on it. Really might depend on your style.

I have to say be careful with the G13 and test it before you buy it. i bought one and the thumb section is incredibly uncomfortable to me. Because of that, i actually used it for less than two hours before i realized it was worthless for gaming. That being said, it still sits on my desk and was totally worth the price for its LCD screen (i got mine cheap though). Build quality is excellent, software is good, and of course, the LCD screen is beyond useful.

Anyone know where I could try one out? Bestbuy? Staples? Microcenter?

I've been using a Wolfking Warrior for the past few years. Love it! I believe Ultra rebranded them as well, as the Ultra GPC Warrior. I'm having a hard time finding either in stock anywhere.
