[Newegg] AMD Phenom II X4 960T Zosma 3.0GHz Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core $110

Ran across this while flipping thru the egg. I didn't see it already posted, unless it is part of one of the "General Newegg Deals" threads. In any event, the 960T BE, which has a good potential for unlocking to 5 or 6 cores, currently has a $15 off promo code (EMCJHKJ33) good thru 12/07/11.

Anyone looking for an AMD quad/quin/hex core might want to consider this one. Basically a Thuban core with possibly better memory clocking than a Deneb and only 95W thermal design

All in all, not a bad little processor...or at least that's what I'm hoping, 'cause I just ordered one. smile.gif

Well, not that this has been of interest to anyone (wow, Mr. Obvious, are you sure about that? smile.gif ), but since it expires today, I'm just going to bump it one time just in case there is one person out there that might be interested.

Did you end up getting yours? Did it unlock?

Best CPU ever, mine did unlock and I overclocked it to 3.42 Ghz, I could probably go higher but I don't think its really necessary.

The 1055t is $119 at Microcenter and you get a free MB, so after tax it was $129 with the free MB. Not the greatest MB and of course it's in-store only, but for some it might be a better deal.

I ordered my Zosma last night. I bought it because I'm on a budget looking to upgrade from my 5 y/o pentium 4 3gHz dell dimension e510. I've read that there's about a 50/50 shot at getting one that'll unlock to 6 cores, so it's worth the price. Can anyone tell me if this motherboard is worth plugging it into?

I think this is a little bit better, different chipset (SB950) and has an easier way to use the bios. Not to mention, this one has free shipping and is AM3+ ready if you are looking to buy BD processors.

Mine was delivered late this afternoon, so I haven't done anything with it yet, not even open the box. Been fixing meals and walking dogs and on my way out to do some shopping, so it might be a day or two before I try it out.

Good find. No need to worry about tonight's expiration date at Newegg.

I couldn't even find it at Amazon the last time I looked.
