Battlefield 3 Long load times.

Hey guys, I've been having this problem since the games release I would like to say. And I know of the threaded optimization "fix" for this issue. But it apparently did not work for me. I have tried everything, I thought there might be an issue with RAID 0 and this game, so I went from RAID 0 to just running 2 separate disks...still same issue... I thought it might be something on my router slowing me down, so I took it out of the equation... still same results... I thought it might have something to do with stuff running in the background, so I just did a minimal startup with nothing running in the background...still same results. I thought that maybe it had something to do with the Intel SATA controller, so I switched from the intel SATA ports to the normal Marvell SATA ports... still same result.

And the kicker is that I have a buddy that is running a slower HD, and a Q2Quad, and he loads faster than I do... So I am at a loss. I don't know what else there is to be done. Either the game is just busted for me and only me, or there's something wrong with my computer. (I just did a clean installation of windows so there is no way that's possible.)

So, is there anything that I missed? please let me know of any other possible solutions... I have the latest 290 drivers. Game is patched everything is fine except for the RIDICULOUS loading times...

I'm on an ssd and loading times take long.
Depends on what you think is ridiculous.

One more thing, i found that clicking on the bf3 icon(even before game is ready) on the taskbar opens up the game faster than waiting for battlelog to actually launch the window.

Typically, around a minute or so... I know it's not that long generally speaking. But when all your buds are in the game playing a good 40 seconds before you are, it gets kind of annoying.

Trust me when I say that I have looked... I only came across the turning on threaded optimization in control panel. It did nothing for me. And some people say to disable UPnP, did nothing.

Anyone have any other ideas that could possibly fix this?

Okay I'm glad to hear that. I thought my drive just sucked.

Also glad to see i'm not the only one with this problem. Gonna keep this thread aside, the load times are just ridiculous.

Honestly, My loading time went from 5 to 10 secs to 20 to 40 secs. It was alot faster during release, Its probably due to the game itself, Nothing we can do about it, Just alt tab and browse OCN while loading, Multi-tasking is so easy with BF3. biggrin.gif
