Nice! I had a sapphire 5770 vapor-x that I sold for some bucks, now upgraded to my actual rig on cross 6870s.

You bought a top of the line $600 Hexa Core CPU, now I'm just wondering why are you holding on to such ancient 1GB VRAM cards.... Care to enlighten me? biggrin.gif

i was running a 2600k for more then 6 month with CF 5770 setup.... as long as it takes care of what he needs to take care of, why be in a hurry to upgrade...
post #6 of 38
@Karnange Ah ok that makes sense. Considering it's only a month away.

@Hitman lol

That's why. But no worries the man is being smart and going 7k series. I was just boggled why he was wanting a 4 way slot for 4x 5770's.

HOW DO YOU TRIFIRE A 5770 SINCE IT HAS ONLY ONE CROSSFIRE CONECTION ON EACH CARD?:
post #8 of 38
Two of them used to be mine. With my 2500K, they were close to the performance of my 6970.

I don't think you can really call them ancient yet. They still hold there own.

As for Tri Fire, these were reference cards. So they have 2 Bridges each.

@Bisquick
7k series is a month away, plus too many issues in 5k CF, including newer games that utilize more than 1GB VRAM.

Yep, seems pretty ancient to me.
