What Should I Sleep On?

Thread Starter
So my room is pretty small, and it contains my desk/computer/two dressers.

Plus I have a queen size bed, which eats up like 60% of my room. So I was thinking of going and buying a futon, I really can sleep on anything. So It does not bother me one bit that the mattress is thin. The question is does anyone use a futon, or had experience with one?

Please suggest some purchases, also if you think I should pick something else besides a futon let me know why.

You could buy a chair that rotates back till it's perpendicular to the floor. Buy a really huge office chair that can do that and allow it to serve as bed and chair. Never leave bed.thumb.gif

I would not recommend getting a futon.

I would say
1) get a storage bed. With drawers under it so you can be rid of the dressers.

2) Or get a Loft bed, might require a bit of searching around, but you can find them with both a desk and dresser underneath the bed, which would free up a ton of space

*there are definitely cheaper options in either case

Yep, storage bed ( don't know what the proper term for it is). I have no dresser in my room now but my bed has 4 drawers and a door to store various other things. Also I can store things under the bed behind where the drawers are. Also, sleeping on a futon sucks.

The only other reason I wanted a futon over a loft bed was, cause I watch tons of movies/tv shows and having a couch/bed would be super beneficial for me.

Man, I had a somewhat decent Futon in one room for a bit. It was not my bed, just a place to site.

I tried to take a nap on it once, but it was terrible.

I know they make better ones, mine was only a couple hundred dollars, but it was only good for sitting.

Futons are useless. You'll be more comfortable sleeping on a floor covered in barbed wire!

Unless your spending 300$ for the thing, if not more, be prepared for a lot of backpain and no relaxation. I use one now and it was a terrible purchase at 200$. I would advise some sort of storage bed, or a loft bed. I thought I could sleep on anything, but the mattresses for futons end up flat and losing all cushion. I have to throw a pillow under the side where I normally sleep.

Also they kind of suck for sitting too, most of the ones that are comfortable for sitting suck for sleeping, and the ones comfortable for sleeping suck for sitting.

I am willing to spend $300 for the futon.

Are there anymore suggestion?
