I would imagine yours are exactly the same IC's since i don't think the heat spreader colour is of any consequence other than aesthetics.
Regarding your current black screen, Enter your Bios and reset defaults and save if you can, if not clear cmos.

ah thanks smile.gif that's what I needed, I think I will just stick to lowering the timings as it wont make the big step to 1866 and I don't really want to increase the BCLK as it changed other things aswell.

Just been doing some experimenting and it will boot fine when i change the timings but as soon the the frequency goes above 1600Mhz it just wont boot, even with a 16Mhz increase it wont. frown.gif

Vengence modules really don't move outside of their native specs, your pretty much stuck with 1600Mhz matey. But like i said, you could run 1866+ and in gaming you'll notice nothing. High Speed memory is used for bandwidth heavy tasks or e-peen benching, and i'm not talking 3DMark more sisSandra sort of synthetic tests.

Note: Do Not Touch BCLK on SB.
