I've had a little bit of trouble with the motherboard, and i have since discovered that it does not have a sata drive port.
So, the only realistic option without having a useless old SSD which acer used to fit these boards with is to boot a USB drive..
Anyway, the top and bottom of it is that im going to lose my UBUNTU virginity!
Ill pop it on a usb flash drive, (2GB) to start off with and then at a later date make the drive bigger..
Ill post back in a few hours with the OS running on it! (Hopefully)
Merry christmas!

Is there an expansion slot? pcie or something? Stick a raid card or something in there.

Oh and you may want to still consider windows if you're planning on using batteries. Better power management AFAIK.

$100 more to the cost of this build for power management options?
I never came across any problems with Ubuntu's anyways.

I have another update for you all,

I have a little confession to make though, when i was doing this stage i forgot to take any pictures when i was doing it so here is what i have done smile.gif

As you can see, i have put the USB's in the memory card slots, gluing them in securely wink.gif (Probably too securely :L)
IMG_1676.jpg
I have also cut the side out of the bottom plastic plate so that the I/O can be accessed from the outside, pictured here:
IMG_1677.jpg
Here's the USB's inside the Memory Card slot, the fitted in surprisingly well!
IMG_1680.jpg
View from the I/O side, doesnt look too bad.
IMG_1681.jpg
Again from the I/O side, but this time with the case on, i think its quite discreet, which is how i wanted it..
IMG_1685.jpg

So the things left to do are:

Get the power button connected to the power button on the board,
Buy a battery, (Only maybe though, as it would mean cutting the back of the PS1 open)
Put a DVD drive in it

And thats about it, i think :L

I think the next update will be next week sometime..

Oh, once i have finished this, would anyone like to have it as a swap for anything cool?
I haven't really got a use for it..

I have a old PS2 that stopped working (fried it when I was in China) but I'm pretty sure it can't fit anything. It's the large one.

Anyways, looking forward to it.

Very impressive. :thumb:

Please do go with a DVD drive in the centre; if you can manage it, it'd end up being amazing. :D

I've had another idea,

How about putting a PS3 controller inside a PS1 controller?

The controller would be wireless, and white, and there is a bluetooth module inside the Motherboard anyway..

I think it could work well.

Does anyone have both controllers? (Just for sizing up)

I know that the PS2 controller and PS3 controller are of very similar sizes, and I think the PS1 controller is the same as the PS2. The only issue you'd have is the L2 and R2 buttons are different on the PS3, as they're like triggers that have a lot more travel, whereas on PS1/PS2 they're just buttons.
