Will I be able to power my illuminated keyboard through a USB extension cable?

I just bought the Logitech Ultra Thin Illuminated Keyboard and just realized it's cable was too short to reach the computer looking clean. My question is will I still be able to power the keyboard if I first plug it into a USB extension cable? The manual says that since its a high powered USB device, it must be connected directly into the computer. So does that mean that getting an USB extension cable will hinder it's performance?

You should be fine with a USB extension cable, I would suggest plugging it in to the motherboard header however (back of computer). In the event that your keyboard does not work this way, it can be easily rectified by purchasing a powered USB hub such as this one

Thanks for the quick reply. But do you think ill still be able to provide enough power through the extension to power the back light?

Yeah, if it can power the keyboard, it will power the backlighting.
