HWMonitor Question URGENT 128 Degrees C??

Hey all,

Was just starting my venture into overclocking my 2500k and downloaded HWMonitor. I have Prime95 running and my CPU core temps are sitting nicely around 62 degrees. That said, I noticed under the Motherboard readouts, Temperatures; CPUTIN: is showing 128 degrees? Is this even possible? Or likely just a bad sensor?

I have an ASUSTeK SABERTOOTH P67 Rev. 3

The motherboard should shut off when it gets near dangerous temperatures. At 128 C it would probably start burning. It's most likely a bad sensor.

Thanks. I figured such as well, but wasn't 100% sure as I've never run Prime on any system I've owned. I also just checked the board itself for a temperature check and it was cool.

CPUTIN constantly shows 60c for me, whether idle or load, at all times...I figure it's not actually monitoring anything

It means that your Board bios has options to measure temps that are not implemented on your boards hardware.

ie the bios can monitor NB temps but the board does not have a NB temp sensor so you are seeing an open circuit (ie maxed)

Nothing to worry about.
