NB speed stuck at 2700mhz?

Thread Starter
I just hit 4.2ghz stable a few days ago (4 hours p95) And I had my NB speed set at around 2500mhz, and it stayed there, and showed up as such, but it blue screened when I went to 6 cores, which i expected it to do, I had to do a failed OC reset, and i set all my settings back to the way they were before.

So I rebooted, and went into cpu-z, HWmonitor, and P95 to stress test and it failed P95 in 2 minutes. I checked all my cpu-z tabs and noticed that my NB speed was at 2700mhz. I went back to the bios, dropped the multi so it would hit 2100mhz, but that didnt change anything. Still at 2700 mhz.

Did the BSOD screw something up? All of my settings are the same as they were before, the only thing i can think of is that the BSOD did something. Any other ideas?

Edit- might help to know my settings. I got 300mhz on the FSB, 1.5v vcore, 1.3v CPU-NB, stock DRAM settings, 1900mhz HT link.

are you sure you lowered the right multiplier? i know lowering the main multiplier doesn't affect nb.

Yes, I lowered the NB multi directly.

Nope, clocks are the same. I tried screwing with the DRAM timings, it was unstable, so I rebooted and fixed it. Now this happened. Its getting quite annoying since I'm trying for 4.4ghz.

You're going to have a hard time cooling 4.4Ghz on air with that X6. I suggest you aim for 4Ghz with lower voltage.

No, my phone doesn't sync well, I'm afraid it might not be the bios, I know my way around it pretty well. If you know anything that might be screwing it up, feel free to ask for more speeds, but the settings were the same as they were before. thats the weird thing.

Cooling is no issue, i have 2 cores disabled for 36C max load temps, but with 6 cores it only hits 50c. VRMs stay at about 45C maybe, and my ram is ice cold.

are you sure your fsb was 300 before the reset? because you can't get a nb of 2500 from a 300 fsb. your multiplier would have had to have been 8 1/3.

disregard. i saw. 2100.

It was 300, but the NB speed was somewhere around there, it wasnt exactly that, maybe 2400. I just know it wasnt 2700. It was the next step down.

edit- Yea, I had it at the step above 2100, and i dropped it to 2100 to make sure it was really stuck.
