Unable to setup duplicate monitors.

Thread Starter
As notable in my Sig Rig, I am running SLI GTX570s. Today I got a 2nd monitor to use with it. the monitors are not of identical size, but are of identical native resolution (1920x1080). When I hooked the second monitor up, it automatically went to extend display mode. That's all well and fine, but I need it in duplicate display mode. When I went in to the Windows Control Panel, I changed it from "Extend these displays" to "Duplicate these displays". Upon pressing Apply, I got an error message saying "Unable to save display settings." Each monitor is attached to a different graphics card, but it extends flawlessly. It just wont let me set it to duplicate/clone. Any ideas?

I think you're supposed to connect both monitors to the same GPU for SLI, if you haven't tried that already.

I can't do that. Only 1 HDMI out per GPU.

Also, is there a way to make it so that in a situation with extended displays you can make applications open on the monitor the icon was on?
