GTS 250 vs GTX 260 Core 216 at Low Resolution + e3300

Thread Starter
I am building a budget gaming rig for a friend. I am looking at getting him either a GTS 250 for $30 or a GTX 260 Core 216 for $60. I know the 260 will crush the 250, but the rig is going to be on a small monitor, probably either 1024x768 or 1280x1024, and the rig has a celeron e3300 OCed to 3GHz. My question is, what will the performance difference be at a low resolution and with a cheap CPU, and does the difference justify double the price?
Thanks

I can't give you anything precise. I did run many games at either max or close to max on a GTS 250 @ 1280x1024

the games are Burnout Paradise, Batman Arkham asylum, Resident evil, Crysis 2, sims 2 and 3 GTAIV mirrors edge, L4D2, portal and Halo 2. at Frames or 60 and over

hope this helps! I can't tell you much about the Celeron.
