550W handle this?

Thread Starter
Hey

I have no idea when it comes to PSUs... I'm not sure if my 550W PSU (specifically this one http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1147669&CatId=1079)

I'm going to be running my sig rig (955 at 4.4 (1.5v), 2x 550 ti, 1x gt240 and 2 sata drive)

Think it'll be fine or do I have to upgrade?

Thks

Might be a stretch. I would upgrade to keep my PSU cool. Any time PSU is near its max rated wattage it start getting hot.

Pick on in 600W to 700W range.

You'll really be pushing that PSU, considering that it isn't even a decent(familiar) brand.

I can't even find what amps are on those 12v rails, or if it really even has dual 12v rails. Hell I can't find ANYTHING on this unit.

Only 72% efficient to boot.. At best. Old unit aswell.

If your 550W would have been a good quality unit then you wouldn't have had any issue with your setup(the 2x 550Ti + the Physx card max out below 350W).. but yours is not a quality unit wink.gif
