And yes, VRM failures have been known to take out other parts at times.  CPUs have died, power supplies have died.... even in the most random of situations, RAM sticks have died, due to VRM failures/fry events.

Also the G65 failing after 11 months is justified to an extent (11 Months in MSI world is a looonngg time biggrin.gif) as it's rated for 140W CPUs, not 95W. Take the 760GM-P33(95w) for example. As mentioned in xd's list, the moment a tri-core was unlocked into a 125w Phenom, the board went poof that very instant.

Make sure in the advanced windows power settings that minimum processor state is set to 0% for the multi to actually change. Windows wont let it if it's set to 100%.

I don't have that in the settings, I have that in CCC though.

Not necessarily.  During the year you had it running at stock, the VRMs may have degraded enough to the point where chance of failure is so much more likely when you begin pushing the clocks even further.  This I've seen with several failure scenarios.  I highly recommend switching the board out for something else.  If you can't be bothered to do that, it's your risk.  Don't come crying back to me when your CPU and a whole bunch of other parts may have also been taken out in the flashbang.  This is my last warning about the issue.  No 3+1 phase with zero cooling whatsoever (thanks to that Hyper 212+, not even airflow gets to the system) is going to survive this.  And adding cooling isn't going to help much, amperage capacity limit is going to hit you well before extreme heat does.

If anything, watch your TMPIN2 sensor (VRM temperatures) in HWMonitor Pro.

lol well I already said I have a 3-year warranty at Fry's electronics for my mobo and cpu. So if it does fail, it's not a huge deal, and I can replace it.

My TMPIN2 is at 74c currently. btw

Quick question xd, what's the max safe load temp for the VRMs?

lol you dont even want to know how horrible my PSU is. I really need to upgrade, but haven't had the money, hopefully Christmas I can. frown.gif

I appreciate the help from you and everyone though.

EDIT:

Ok, well I just downclocked to 3.7GHZ and now Cool n Quiet works now. Seems at 3.8+GHZ it doesn't work. It uses the same amount of volt at 3.7 and 3.8 I noticed too.
