Hey Everyone! (the introduction thread of yet another new member :) )

So I'm very new to the idea of creating my own custom systems rather than just buying a pre-made computer, but I've had a fantastic experience so far. I was able to get some friends to help me out, and with a $600 budget, make a very nice gaming system. Actually, I was wondering what you guys thought of it:

GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6870
CPU: Intel Core i3-2120
Motherboard: ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3
PSU: Corsair CMPSU-650TXV2
RAM: G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3
HDD: Hitachi 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s
Tower: Rosewill CHALLENGER
DVD: SAMSUNG SH-222AL
Monitor: Asus VH238H HD 1080p 23"

I knew that I was willing to count the tower and the monitor as extra costs that wouldn't count toward my $600 budget, so all in all, I spent $646 on the system and $130 on the monitor.

So yeah, this is my first time making my own build (though I had great people to advise me the whole time), so I was just curious what ya'll think! Is my build ok? Should I have done things differently? So yeah, any feedback is welcome. biggrin.gif

Welcome to OCN and congrats on your first build! Looks pretty good and leaves you open for upgrading down the road if you ever choose to. thumb.gif

And thank you as well! Yeah, because I only had $600, I wanted to design it so that I could upgrade later on when I had more money. Such as switching an i5 or even an i7 in there and then overclocking it. smile.gif
