According to Phaedrus' psucalc: two cards at stock run 660W. Doesn't allow to add a third card.

I need a definitive answer here guys

One says yes one says no.

Which is it

well if 2 cards run stock at 660watts...then its 330 watts per card.... so for a 3rd card at stock volts you would need 990watts....so roughly a 1000watt psu....then worry about peripherals such as lcd ,keyboard, mouse....

prob invest in a 1k watt psu or maybe even a 1200w tongue.gif

i believe he means 660watts for the entire system, 330watts is an insane amount of power and no 6950 will suck up that much

yes i believe youll be fine in realistic loads with a bit of overclocking

~200 per card (600)
~80-100w for a cpu with a decent overclock
~50-60w for the rest

= 750/760

That can't be true.

That calculator takes into account my cpu with a 40% OC on my i5, 1 SSD, 1 HDD, 2 ODD, 8GB RAM, Etc

Each card draws 250-300 watts depending on overclock and unlocked or not.
I would say that your pushing it doing trifire.

On another note it seems kinda pointless to trifire @ 1080 res...
You should be able to max any game with x2 you already have?

Scratch above post.

6950 draws roughly 160 watts load while 6970 210 watts.

It be pretty close to 850 watts its rated at, but should be good.

Yeah you should be fine. Although I wouldn't go pushing any crazy overclocks
