Question about Onboard graphics

Thread Starter
I have a z68 board and i5 2500k and will be using my onboard cpu graphics until i save up for a graphic card.

Once i get the graphic card do i have to do anything other then install the drivers and switch the dvi over?

Do i got to uninstall the intel graphics and everything.

Also with the bios since im new. Can i leave everything the way it is in the bios and just adjust the ram settings. Is it ok to leave it all on auto or will that break my pc?

Before installing your card, uninstall the onboard video drivers, then you can go into the bios and disable onboard video. And ur fine leaving everything in the bios auto, if your vengeace is running at 1333 bump it to 1600.

Windows 7 can run 2 GPU drivers at the same time. There is no need to remove the onboard driver. In fact your board supports Virtu. I use Z68 Pro3 (ATX version), and I run both Intel and Nvidia driver at the same time with my monitor plugs into the GTX 460. Whenever I install beta Nvidia driver my screen would turn black for a moment, that is when I disconnect my DVI port and plug into onboard DVI to get through the installation. I use onboard GPU whenever my GTX 460 isn't working at the moment.

Yes, you can have both HD Graphics driver and your stand-a-lone graphics card drivers installed at the same time. Depending on what your doing, enter your bios and disable on board graphics if not needed at that time.
