Which PC should I buy?

Thread Starter
I'm being offered two PCs to buy, and I'm not so sure which one to pick:

Option 1:
AMD Phenom II X2 555 (unlocked and OC'd to 3.8 GHz)
Asrock 990FX Fatal1ty Professional
ASUS GTX 560 Ti
4GB G.SKILL 1600 RAM

Option 2:
i5 2500k
Asrock H61M-VS
EVGA GTX 570
4GB Team Elite 1333

I'm going to be using this mainly for school work (some programming), browsing and sometimes some gaming (though when I game, I'd like to game HARD).
Though it seems like the i5 2500k is the better one, it is much more expensive, plus the H61 motherboard is putting me off a bit. Any suggestions?

The 2500k build would be better, but if money is any kind of an issue, the AMD build would still be fantastic

And if your gaming at 1080p or lower, there may not even be much difference, 560ti can get 60fps on pretty much anything

How long would the AMD build last me before I need an upgrade?

Some gaming? And how much more are you talking for the 2500k?

A pretty long time, and whenever you're ready, thats a fantastic motherboard its in, so you could drop in any amd cpu out there with no issue, and assuming piledriver will be on am3+ you could go that way too, but an overclocked phenom 2 can handle 2 6950s before it starts bottlenecking, so you'd be fine

I'm assume that that mobo is not good, and that I'd have to upgrade it.
Any suggestions on what mobo I should be upgrading to?

Why the generic 1333 memory? Why the H61 motherboard for the Intel build?

How much are these machines costing you? $80 difference seems like a no brainer, but it sounds like you're buying from somebody else...and it sounds like they might be ripping you off big time.

Yes, I am buying from somebody else.
Don't know why they'd put those in, which is why I'd like to ask which one I should probably get.

The AMD one's some $700. (mind you, I'm just converting from my local currency)
The Intel one's like $80 more, though there is that generic memory and H61 mobo.
