SteelSeries Sensei or Diablo III mouse?

Hi

My girlfriend wants to buy me a new mouse for Xmas.

Stuck between the SteelSeries Sensei and Diablo III mouse. Here are links to respective products:

http://steelseries.com/products/mice/steelseries-sensei
http://steelseries.com/products/games/diablo-iii/steelseries-diablo-iii-mouse

From what I can see, both of them are based on the same Xai chassis and both have the Avago sensor and not the usual Philips Twin Eye which most people complain about.

Where they do differ are:

Sensei: 32bit ARM processor, bottom LCD (maybe a bit of a gimmic), metal coating finish, custom LED colours
Diablo III: not sure about the processor, no bottom LCD, soft black coating, only RED LED colour

Firstly, my current setup is black and red lighting so the Diablo III mouse would fit in with the coulour scheme.

What does worry me is the finish on either of them, however more so on the Sensei. I am worried that the finish may get worm-off after a couple of months or years. Personally, none of my peripherals have ever let me down with worm-off finishes, however there may always be a first time. I considder myself one of the people who DON'T have sanding-paper for fingertips and skin. I see a lot of people with worn-off peripherals and wonder how the hell do they manage to do that?

Back to the subject. What do you guys think? In my mind the major differences between the two devices are 3 things: price, coating finish and onboard processor.

Please feel free to discuss and give advise.

I'm sure you already bought your mouse but seriously if you are worried about your mouse getting worn out after a couple years then you got some high expectations! More important is if you sweat while gaming. If so then skip the Sensei as it will get slippery and go for the matte finish with the Diablo for the grip. If you don't sweat then get the Sensei because it doesn't have a textured surface so there really isn't anything to get worn out on the finish and eventually that diablo mouse will get shiny spots on the buttons as the texture wears off. The last and most important point you skipped was that the Diablo mouse is like $20-$30 less so price alone it might be better for you.

I have the Sensei myself and I really like it. For a ambi style mouse its comfy but they both have the same body style and the diablo one will match your setup better so get that one..... well unless you plan on switching case themes sometime in the next couple years...... wink.gif
