ASUS VH236H LCD Monitor (Like New in Box)

Thread Starter
I bought this a few weeks back. It is basically brand new w/ the shrink wrap still on the monitor and the base plus all of the accessories still wrapped and boxed in the original packaging (including monitor sleeve, styrofoam shipping case, and all bags for the cables and such). I might have used it 2-3 hours total.

How much could I ask for this? The tricky part to selling things like Monitors is that the box is large and the Monitor weighs ~ 12-13 lbs without including the rest. If I can't get back most of what I paid, I'll just keep it but I could definitely use the money if I can find a decent deal for it.

Thanks for the help!

I'd try Craigslist. It eliminates the cost of shipping. I've had much more success selling computer peripherals and components locally than when there is shipping involved. You could try eBay's classified service too.

That's a great suggestion but unfortunately I live in an extremely small area and it's difficult to sell things like high-end computer equipment around here. I've tried before with little to no success. lol Thank You for the help, though.

How much did you buy it for and how much are you expecting to get back?

I believe I paid $179 for it w/ a $20 MIR (so $159 if I actually get that back) so I'd like to get maybe $150 for it including shipping or $130 + Shipping if that sounds better. If I could ship it out for $15-$20 then I'd at least get MOST of the money back.

Does that sound reasonable?

It really just depends on which carrier you're using to ship. You can probably find out how much it would cost to ship an item by entering it's weight and or dimensions on the carrier's website. I'd also probably choose the longest amount of time it will take to reach its destination, to reduce shipping cost.

If I was selling the same monitor, I would probably try to get at least $130 as well.
