AMD Going Under??? AMD's First Look At Radeon 7000 Series and AMD's NEW DRAM Modules!!! - Page 5

Im an nvidia fan but hope the 7 series take it up a notch, good competition makes all consumers winners.

AMD isnt going anywhere, but I doubt they will be benchmark kings any time soon either.

I had an 8150 within launch week or 2 and kept it about 2 weeks. It wasnt bad but offered NO GAIN in real world over my 1100T, and going intel probably wouldnt either at the moment. That said the FX series 8 core cpu's arent horrible but they werent what AMD made them out to be, they made us all think they would kill intel and they struggled to keep up with them, but as programs get more threaded and that amd rumored win7 patch comes out, things will get better a little better, the thing is BD isnt really worth upgrading to if you have a good phenom ii unless you just want the newest toy. Thats why I sold mine in favor to put the money into a better gpu than I had. BD does do every day computing and most people that are happy with their BD purchase are happy because they dont need to be benchmark queens, the 8120/8150 will game just fine, but if your ego depends on having the highest benchmark scores then intel is a win for sure. If your gaming and needing the power of tri or quad gpu processors intel is a must. For single gpu setups AMD will do just fine thus why I love my 1100t system.

Im hoping piledriver truely beats the 2500K in everyway since Im already invested in my sweet asus 990fx CHV, otherwise Im going back to intel (this was my first AMD build, p4 HT, core2duo, 1100t)

And the Intel IGPU's are atrocious.

Always have, always will.

Wonder how pricey in AUD this new series will be, hopefully I can get a big step up for my GTX460 at the <$250 point.

+1

I'm a big fan of AMD. But there's only one reason I'd buy a bulldozer chip, and that's for it to stay in its box to be a collectors item (being that it could be AMD's last desktop cpu) rolleyes.gif

According to their own numbers well Intel, Intel's stock isn't down on the year, but AMD is. Just sayin. Does it mean they are going under? Nope.

Thread locked. The link in the OP seems fishy, seeing as how they're not using the proper code names that we KNOW they're going to use (like Southern Islands). Also, there's too much bashing on each other in here. Play nicely. wink.gif
