I haven't gotten a reply to the message and the order status has never changed.
Not having an item in stock or not having them time to do something with a package is one thing, but spending literally seconds informing customers or replying to messages is another.
I'm not disgruntled yet or anything, but the lack of communication and no status change leave a lot to be desired if they're looking for repeat customers. This on top of other people having the same sentiment on ResellerRatings. I do know that people usually don't speak out or review service if things run smoothly, so I always try to look at things objectively. But uhh.. yeah.

All absolutely valid concerns.

Your order is "weird" because it's a contest award; I tend to give priority to normal orders first, and then I process contest awards in large batches every week or two.

Part of the problem is just limited time right now; my wife has been traveling for her job a bunch again and has been gone the better part of the month, so my time has been stretched *very* thin.

Being totally honest, i'd never buy anything from your site. The first three buttons I clicked gave me a "Uh Oh..." page or had "no products matching your selection." Sounds like you need to decide if you have time to run your company. Niche, high quality products need high quality customer service, and the buying experience should be quick and easy. And if everything you sell is also available at Amazon or NewEgg for less $$, why would I buy from you?

Haha that's actually a very legitimate question biggrin.gif

Right now, there is no major reason - which is also why I haven't put as much time in of late. Sounds a bit like a chicken/egg situation, but let me elaborate:

Computer parts is a RAZOR thin margin business. You have to either (a) do MASSIVE volume or (b) exploit a major niche to be successful.

We do (b) sometimes, when the market forces allow. This is typically when new CPU revisions come out and I can use my networks to snag specific revisions / steppings. I've also used it to get inventory on high demand parts when nobody else could, and I did so without gouging our customers. Back when the E8400 / Q9450's launched, I was the *only* reseller in the US who had them, for at least a week and a half, and I sold hundreds at very little markup.

Right now though, since AMD has been virtually a non-factor, Intel hasn't had the incentive to ramp up tech as quick, and what has come out has been awash in supply - leaving us no niche to service.

So for our "normal" sales we are pretty much dormant right now. The site is only really processing OCN orders / contest awards these days, and will until some new thing comes out that we can assist with.

Paid OCN orders are still generally processed pretty quickly, but yes, contest awards lag at times, but are still shipped out faster than they used to be before we moved to this new system; it's just more transparent now so it *looks* slower wink.gif

I placed an order on Sunday (regular order, no contest winning or anything), thinking it should have no problem going out on Monday. It's now Wednesday so going on the 3rd business day and still nothing. I looked around to see what the shipping policy is and it states "Orders are generally shipped within 24-48 hours." So I assume by the end of today I'll get the e-mail that it's been shipped?
