THE best air cooler on the market! - Page 7

Which of the CPU heatsinks deliver the best performance and can house 140mm fans? All I know so far is the Noctua NH-D14 and Thermalright Silver Arrow.

Sheeeeesh..........the answer's soooooooo subjective. biggrin.gif

You'll prolly find an easy 4-5 of um......spec out 2-3-4 degrees difference.
And that's why there really is , no such thing as "the best"

D-14.

Phanteks is a freaking joke. People are only praising it as the New King because it has better style, and people just generally want change.

It is not better, and in some tests, worse, and noisier.

http://www.overclock3d.net/reviews/cases_cooling/phanteks_ph-tc14pe_review/1

You won't find better air cooling than the D-14. Plus, you can add a third fan, and in a wind tunnel, get 5c lower, and still be super quiet. That would beat the H100, at half the noise. tongue.gif

Listen to this guy, knows his stuff. tongue.gif

He is one of the most professional reviewers on the Internet. By that I mean he is showing what you will really get.

You can get sites like FrostyTech or so, using tons of gear, equipment, and using specialized stuff to mount and all that crap, but 99.9% of users won't...so his review for the 99.9% of us.

I don't get why reviews still use that hot terrible CPU to test on...just because it runs hot. Makes absolutely no sense. If you're going to make a new review for a new product, use a new CPU that people can readily relate with. Not a chip that's 2 generations old...might as well test it on a P4.

Looks like he also left the side of the case off...wouldn't that effect temps as well and possibly in a negative way?

Well, there is nothing to disagree here. he does use different cases and different case fans for every other test...

you simply cant compare the results of different cooler tests when you use different cases/case fans, beacause it can easily make a few degrees difference in temperature. whats to disagree about that? seriously im curious?
