BIOSTAR TA870U3+

Has anyone overclocked with this board? Any quirks oddities I should know about? Is it better to manually overclock or use the built in overclocking profiles? Is your Green Power Utility off or on while overclocked?

I'm really only looking for answers from people who have personally used this board or has discussed this board before.

So I tried using the overclocking presets that came with the board. It overclocked my 955 to 3.67 and I ran Prime95 after that and my CPU temperature hit ******* 58 at one point and that was ONLY after 10 minutes.

I am getting frustrated.

i had that board and got my phenom II x4 3.4 up to 3.8 for everyday use. as for green power dont run it it cuts volts to the cpu thus hurting the potential of any oc. i used the overclock in the bios to do one of the pre set oc 's V something sorry i cant be more helpful. i will be re installing that board soon though on my sons pc soon as i can get a new cpu. they are a decent board though unless ur gonna do any serious gaming then you cant sli or xfire . thats why i got rid of it i want to multi vid card and buy a bulldozer

Did you do a trial run with the Green Utility on AND off? I think I can get up 4.0GHz on my 955 BE because I'm 3.8GHz on 1.350v and it seems pretty stable. I'm going to run Prime95 for 12 hours to make sure. Thanks for your help. biggrin.gif

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I have re-aquired my old TA870U3+ rig.

I decided to put my stuck bulldozer CPU cooler (4-Heatpips) on my Athlon II x2 255 CPU and my 1866MHz Ripjaws (7-8-7-24) sticks on the board.

When I fire up it says my memory is at 1066MHz. Shouldn't it go to 1333Mhz as the MB supports 1066/1333 out of the box, and 1600 on an overclock.

I can't seem to find any memory divider or multiplier for the memory anywhere.

It already has the latest BIOS installed.

I know my memory is Haswell compatible and no mention of AMD support, as well as XMP profiles.
