Asus crosshair v new install no boot - Page 2

You can try to clone the hard drive with Norton Ghost. And no its not his plug....geez guys have you ever built a pc, they have completely different pin shapes.. Regardless it's probably an issue with you SATA controller thing. Go into bios and look for some sort of SATA option. It will give you a choice of something like IDE, RAID, and SATA. Put it on IDE and see if windows will boot, if that fails set it to the other options. This has happened a few times to me and its always been a major pain to settle out.

thanks for the info. i went into the bios and chanfed the sata to IDE and it booted into windows no problem.

the only problem with your help thogh it was a day or two late and I wasted $128on a ssd to try out.biggrin.gif Just joking. But I did get a ssd drive and installed it to see what all the whoopla is about. I went ahead and left my hard drive in though since there is way to much to start over.o maybe that ssd will go into a future desktop but until then I will let it collect dust.
