Either way, if they can get an embryo to develop its a high-five for scientists.

You do realize what cloning is right?

just putting it out there,in the last 10 years the maximum money and progress is seen in developing drugs to cure erectile dysfunction and related diseases.

genetics is in the lower half when it comes to funding and hence progress.

convince man that cloning will cure ED,and we will have mammoths and dinos in 1 year!

Maybe they can breed the Mammoth down like they did Bullmastiff's to get a pug, so we could have a Bullmastiff sized mammoth pet. ?

Bad Luck??

Took this from the article.

The Briefly Resurrected Ibex

To illustrate this point, let's look at the only animal species ever brought back from extinction: the Pyrenean ibex. This goat species, once native to the Pyrenees on the border between France and Spain, died out in 2000 when its last surviving member, a female named Celia, was hit by a falling tree

LOL at the who would win in a fight comments. Sure a raptor could kill a person, though we don't how it behaved...it is possible that it might have been a scavenger afraid of its own shadow. Did you know that the T Rex is now being thought more of a scavenger? It's short little arms would not have helped in hunting, but would have helped a lot in tearing up a non-moving carcass, and it would have been too tall to bend over to kill most smaller animals effectively while not large enough to bite a large plant eater to death...unless it hunted in packs, but most fossils hint it to be a lone wolf.

If I tied any one of you up and tossed you in a turkey coop; I about guaranty every one of you would be pecked to death...likely in minutes. Does that make turkeys deadly creatures? At the time, clone a raptor and I'll go against it with my old XM109. Hell, I'd take the T-Rex on at the same time. Me and that weapon have done some dances that would put that to shame. Though I'd need to get back into military shape first tongue.gif

It doesn't matter who has claw or what not...tools will override nature. At least thus far has been the case. I hate the discussions on scifi games with human fighting aliens naturally designed for fighting saying that humans would have no chance...as if in scifi fantasy world humans wouldn't have lasers and power armor.

Anything can kill anything if give the proper tools and/or situation. Tie your head to the ground and and earth worm could craw through you ear into your brain (lol, it could happen I think...it have to find a nerve)

You do realize that it has tecnically been proven that raptors used to hunt in packs and could actually "talk" with each other. They were small, silent and fast, deadly combo. Also they would hunt at night like the lions.
On another note, tools dont override nature. You got floods, earthquakes, hurricanes, infections, plagues and all sort of stuff.
There hasnt been one civilization so far that could override the true power of nature.
