Hello everyone,
I have very strange problem I don't know what to do anymore and how to fix it.
I bought Core 2 Quad q6600 2,4, replaced my Core 2 Duo e6300, and when Windows (7) starts, it works for 10 seconds maybe and freezes and that's it, have to restart to safe mode. Yes it works in safe mode perfectly!!
But the main thing I found out that in My Computer Properties where is processors name etc.
It shows:

Core 2 Quad q6600 2,4ghz 594 !!!!

But in safe mode:

Core 2 Quad q6600 2,4ghz 2,39 !!!!

Please someone tell me what to do(
I reinstalled Windows already (with my old processor cause with the new it freezed)
I have average/decent PSU 500watt
Video - Radeon HD 6850
MoBo - ECS P965T-A 1.B, and I checked everything it supports the CPU, and I have almost the latest BIOS, there's is only one newer than mine.
I don't know maybe I should update BIOS? Or is it because of the PSU? Or what? Please Help =[

You are using AMD card, can post it in AMD/ATI http://www.overclock.net/f/67/amd-ati

Yea, thats a lot of help, he needs Intel CPU help, not ATi video card help.

OP, have you tried resetting the BIOS? I would start with clearing CMOS then seeing what happens.

Hey everyone, thanks for your replies. But I solved it. I turned off - C1E support and Intel Speedstep Technology in BIOS. And that's it smile.gif) (Maybe BIOS update would help so I could use those settings too, but I won't try my luck right now:D)

That will be temporary solution. Will run into issues later on. Fresh OS re-install will solve it.

I meant, re-install OS with the new CPU. Prior OS will have issues later on. But the choice is yours.
