Plextor M5P
Samsung 840pro
Kingston HyperX 3K
Corsair Neutron/Neutron GTX
Will the performance difference between the listed drives be obvious/severely noticeable? IINM, the Plextor and Samsung will pretty much outperform the Kingston and Corsair. Also they are in the same tier and perform similarly, right? But which should I get (?) price difference isn't much where I'm at.
I don't think I can read/research any more on this matter. It just makes choosing one harder.
Intel 520 wasn't listed coz I can't find them at all.
Appreciate your help guys!

Performance wise:
  1. Samsung 840 Pro
  2. Plextor M5 Pro
  3. Corsair Neutron GTX
  4. Corsair Neutron
  5. Kingston HyperX 3K

You are likely to not tell any difference b/w any of the drives, however it depends on your workload, if you are just going to be using it for the OS and normal use and not a workflow or something of the sort any will work. Just get the one with the best price and warranty.

If you need the best performance possible then one of the top three would be the preference.

I'll only be installing the OS, and some of the crazier programs I use. Photoshop, Autodesk, Ansys, Sony Vegas, Solidworks. Ranking still the same?

Also, I can't really go wrong with the Plextor and Samsung, right? Any reasons to choose one over the other?

Yep, the Sammy is the newest and best. You can't go wrong with it or the Plextor. Plextor SSDs have been proven to be very fast and reliable.

Guess I'll just have to choose which I prefer now. haha.

One more thing. I read that the 128 Plextor M5P is the fastest in it's class (120/128 GB SSDs). Is this still true with the existence of the 840pro?

Not sure, tho they should be similar.

here is a bench of the samsung 128gb:

Here is another members M5 Pro 128gb:

I am actually receiving a 128 Plextor M5 Pro this Tuesday. biggrin.gif

Look up reviews of each and see what you like best. I got the M5 Pro because I like Plextor and my friend Tom above just bought my M3. smile.gif
