I just bought the 128GB Plextor brand new for $90 the other day XD

The Corsair Performance Pro, Plextor M3 Series, and Samsung 830 have Toggle mode NAND. The Crucial M4 has Synchronous.

Also, is the Axiom Signature III worth the extra $50?

Thanks again.
Nope, it has asynchronous NAND, thus it should be slower than all of them.

It was a shell shocker for $155 + $10 off rebate + $40 off coupon + $15 in paypal gifted to me from a friend for fixing their PC. So, only $90 out of pocket. biggrin.gif

It is going to be my new picture storage drive.

Sean, on X58 we all have issues running RAID at full potential. What controllers do you recommend so we can run at rated speeds?

Expensive LSI or Intel controllers or something else similar that uses PCIe X4 or X8 bandwidth and not x1.

Honestly, just use the Intel SATA 2 on your board...there really is not a difference b/w the feel of SATA 2 v. 3...unless you "need" it, it is not worth it to get a $150+ card for RAIDing two SSDs.

I don't mind spending some money as long as I can get the speed that I'm paying for. Can you link me to a controller that will be a good one that will deliver? Cheers mate.

I think this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816118129&nm_mc=OTC-Froogle&cm_mmc=OTC-Froogle-_-Hard+Drive+Controllers+/+RAID+Cards-_-LSI-_-16118129

Or this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16816118133

But please do not just quote me and buy it, do some research first on them, maybe throw some ideas my way too. thumb.gif

I can always return it if it doesn't go well but I seen bad reviews on them. I ordered 2x Corsair performance Pro's so I get them tomorrow.

If I get this ssd for my hard drive is there any problems with me having dual boot ubuntu and windows 7?

That won't harm the SSD right? I would want the SSD to outlive the life of the laptop I would put it in.
