I know what you mean, you don't have to or anything, just consider it some time b/c my friend said there was a nice boost from going from his Force 3 (similar to the Agility 3) to his M4. Plus you could tell me if he was telling the truth. tongue.gif

I've just re-imaged and re-installed so many times it takes about a half hour to do what I need and it is like second nature to me.

I personally use Window's System Image Backup. I have used it a lot and it has worked well, but some people get issues sometimes somehow...

I've heard good things about Easus ToDo back up, I have it installed now but I haven't used the Imaging feature, I was going to last weekend, but I was busy. But it should be good too. Also, there is clonezilla which is more of a linux terminal program, but I never used it.

Sean, look at this video. His PC didn't finish windows logo loading. It skips the loading screen (see 0:34 - 0:39).

How did he do that? Can your Crucial M4 did the same thing, cos all Crucial M4 i saw on youtube did finish the loading screen.

I think its really cool to have a PC skips loading screen like that.

Thanks.

It's not skipping it because the drive is fast, LOL.

You can disable that screen in Windows for faster boot.

They can, it just depends on the way the OS is configured. I haven't tried to configure any super quick boot up myself.

Sean thank you for your guide.
I think my main OS HDD is showing signs of failing. Weird corruption with windows files, such as the Media player suddenly not working, finding errors with chdsk, all after a a windows repair because the Event Viewer suddenly broke.

So, I am thinking about an SSD and maybe using the old drive for something else. I am on a $120.0 USD budget, pretty strict. You really hate on the the SandForce SSD's and reliability for me is fairly important. I do want an SSD with at least a good write speed.

I'll be shopping Newegg, Amazon, and Microcenter.
Any suggestions?

Thanks I am looking at this one then.
http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?product_id=0378086

Is 60 GB enough for a boot drive still? I am currently using a 100 GB partition for my windows install, and it seems bloated since the repair install (in place upgrade), currently shows about 50 GB of disk use. I have a feeling I need to do another round of backups shortly frown.gif

Quick question I currently have a RAID array setup, I know the array should be ok but does moving the windows install to a different drive type require me to Want to rebuild my array?

easy, if you look over my optimization guide you will have ~45-53GB free space after install, I have 30GB free atm with all my stuff installed and then some.

Unplug the array, put in only the SSD, install the OS on the SSD, plug back in the array and you should be fine.
