Alright guys, check this out.

http://www.legionhardware.com/articles_pages/ocz_octane_512gb,5.html

I was thinking of upgrading my Intel 320 SSD in the following months and so far my money is on the Plextor M3 256GB Pro model, judging by the awesome random reads and access times in AS SSD. It will be my boot drive, but i'll be having a few games installed on it as well.

But check out the link above. Look how the SF-2200 drives are lined up at the top in every real world test. Crucial M4 and Samsung 830 end up 60-70% slower in Starcraft II load time. I'm not saying those tests are botched or anything, but is SF data compression that good or there is something i'm missing here ? I have flashbacks featuring BSOD's , pulling hair, endless firmware updates, just like Franky Four Fingers from "Snatch", whenever someone mentions Sandforce, but i would be prepared to take a shot with Intel 520 considering i've never had any reliability issues with them.

Is there anyone here who owns both SF-2200 and M4 / 830 / M3 drives and would be kind to say something about real world performance between them ?

To the guy above, personally, if you already have an SSD and it is working well, I wouldn't upgrade. Obviously the numbers ARE better on the newer drives, but they also cost a ton of money, and they aren't that much better.

As in your drive is doing this? If so it isn't supposed to obviously. Have you talked to Intel about a replacement?

I'd only do it if you need more space an I'd go with the M3, 830, Performance Pro, 520, etc. In regards to the benchmarks, I really wish they showed everything, such as alignment, which driver they used (Intel, MS, etc). I'd

I agree with this, unless they need more space (mentioned above). Also, I'm pretty sure they were referring to sandforce Sata II ssds when they mentioned bluescreens, but I could be wrong.
