@ 256GB not much difference I believe, but the Pro still has the advantage, but @128GB the Pro is far faster in write speeds.

hmmm just read something weird..hope Sean can clearify.

In regards to the Corsair Performance Pro: "The truth is, if you happen to checkout a Plextor PX-M2P 256GB SSD review, these two drives are exact twins when considering the controller, NAND memory and even the cache. "

Link: http://thessdreview.com/our-reviews/corsair-performance-pro-sata-3-256gb-ssd-review-marvell-controller-with-a-punch/

hmmm...I thought the Corsair Performance Pro = Plextor M3 Pro....not M2 Pro controller..

Then there is this: "On the other side of the PCB, we find Marvell's 88SS9174-BLD2 controller, again exactly the same as used in Plextor M3. "

Link: http://www.anandtech.com/show/5785/corsair-performance-series-pro-256gb-review/2

Errr...so which one is it, M2 Pro, M3, or M3 Pro?? lol.

ssdreviews Corsair is using 32nm Toggle Nands older built manufactured date within 40th week 2011, and it's identical to M2P.. Anandtechs Corsair is newer built 2012 manufactured powered with 24nm Toggle type B nands and newer version of Marvell 9174-BLD2 compared to older built 9174-BKK2.. and it's similar to M3/P..

How would one know if the one he will buy is an old or new Corsair?

just check back of the package and see serial number if its something like 0120X newer 011XX older.. There is no significant difference between other than power consumption.. Older process Nands are generaly have higher p/e, but its remained to see if Corsair/Plextor get higher binned Nands for their new PP and M3s..
