I agree. The side buttons and scroll button on my IME 3.0 are very loose and sloppy feeling. It's a good mouse, but the build quality is quite poor.

Nah, the point is the mice with the most accurate sensors are kinda cheaply constructed and won't last. Recent high-grade mice with better construction have poorer sensors for gaming. It's a catch 22. I think OP doesn't really need to change mice if he wants something better than the EC2 based on sensor. IME 3.0 and DA are best, but EC2 is the next closest thing that isn't made out of junk material. I agree though, IME 3.0 and DA are optimal for 6 months to a year if you purchased one knowing you will need to purchase another.

I have a 4 or 5 year old DA 3G that still works with no issues. I also have no problems with the 3.5G and BE I own, granted the BE is only like 6 months old.

If you are in no rush, I suggest you to check the 3-button mouse over at ESReality, at hardware forum section. One user is creating a custom mouse. It's going to be using avago 3050 sensor. I believe it won't have prediction/acceleration. It will also be pretty lightweight, and ambidextrous.

Why do you keep derailing this thread into some sort of Razer fanboyism? You have the Excalibur of Razer mice that survives and isn't a POS like every other Razer/IME device. I get that you are the chosen one. Congratulations. You can really recommend that a DA is better than OP's EC2? I'd say OP would be flushing his money down the toilet for a minor upgrade in tracking but an overall downgrade in quality and longevity. Stop addressing everyone else in this thread, and address OP's questions. Do you work for Razer or something?

If the OP wants a mouse without any prediction or acceleration, the deathadder is definitely a very good choice. the CM storm spawn is nice as well, but i'm not sure if they fixed the low max velocity issues with 1800DPI 1000/500 hz.

He didn't say anything about build quality.
