I have to say that I enjoyed using my FX-8150 for the time I had it. It worked great with my HD6950... Then I added a 2nd card. Multi-GPU scaling is not good, so to save face I had to switch back to my 2500K. I really don't understand why a 8150 would yeild in less performance than a 2500k in multi GPU config. Anyways, I wasn't impressed with the chip. Boot times were slower, day to day use didn't seem very responsive. Maybe AMD will fix BD someday and it will be a good chip.

OP, the thread you had in mind was nowhere shown in the thread that you created. This needless bashing of "AMD, you suck" and "screw you Intel, i'm just as good" is starting to get on my nerves now. I'm not speaking in favor of either party, but as a conformist who knows where his money should be spent, like an ADULT. True, AMD never put forth the right kind of marketing for BD but that's not to say BD sucks. It's a competitive product that absolutely kicks ass in a server-based environment, where it's architecture is put to the fullest possible use. Where does it stand as a gaming chip or even a desktop-oriented product? Quite frankly, It's the middle child, for now atleast. Rumors of Windows 8 improving what BD stands for remains to be seen. I'm not saying that BD would rise from the ashes like some boxer from a cheap action flick, because, quite frankly, there's nothing really to rise greatly from, as far as the current scenario goes. BD is a competitive product that needs tweaking in the form of better revisions and eliminate possible-software bottlenecks. As a faithful AMD user, i honestly don't care about whether or not Intel is ahead. I care about where i spend my money based on what i need out of my hardware for everyday computing. If i feel that an Intel would serve my needs better, so be it. So what if i stop using AMD? That doesn't mean that i stopped liking the brand, neither does it mean i regard Intel as the "winner". It simply means that it's my money and i know the pros and cons of both. As members, you all should stop picking sides and sway AMD buyers towards Intel and vice-versa. The user knows what he exactly wants and that comes in the form of a post in the appropriate forum. If he has a query about which processor to go in for, it's our duty to point out the positives AND negatives, period. So let's all stop spoiling what OCN really stands for. From the 'pursuit of performance', it's gone to the 'pursuit of egos'. Take guys like Syrillian. The man was a legend here at OCN who believed in helping members out in the best way possible. You think he won all of our respect by being a childish, egoistical, my-brand-is-better-than-yours-troll? No! He was the complete opposite, unlike most people in this thread (yeah AMD guys, i'm talking about you too). This "war" has become like a plague in this community. AMD, wanna talk about gaming? Let's face it, the days the Athlon 64 are OVER. Not to say we suck at it now, but Sandy Bridge IS the leader here. And Intel, you guys wanna talk about being victorious? Do you even know part of the reason behind this "victory"? The company got slapped with tax fraud charges and is accused of paying out manufacturers to not include AMD chips in their builds, resulting in unfair competition. Not just that, but also profiteering by charging consumers unruly prices for most of their products (600$ for a SB-E? kiss my butt). Instead of wasting time on this joke of a thread, go and help out members who REALLY need us right now. Grow up guys.

OP, the next time you decide to put up a thread, ANY thread, think twice about the title and nature of it.

and i will state this again - benchmarks basically tell me that starting from the middle of mid-high range, processors have become irrelevant for gaming.

and no - gaining 4.5 fps over 80 fps, does not mean that your card is 'bottlenecked'.

If you look at the current market, Intel offers a better price to performance value unless you're going really cheap...

'unless really cheap' is nonsense.

you tried to mean 'if you are wanting to overspend'.

if i can run swtor, skyrim in 5040x eyefinity with a single 6950 with 40+ fps with full settings with a phenom ii 965 be, then it means a phenom ii 965 be is enough.

ANY performance that is over that, is money thrown out instead of being used on other things.

Huge bottlenecks on $1500 worth of gpus, FTW!!!!!!!

The Bottom Line
In every game we played so far between the AMD FX-8150 and Intel 2500K, not once did the AMD FX-8150 come out on top with a dual or triple-GPU configuration. Even when performance was "similar," the Intel CPU still held a certain percentage of performance advantage, over the AMD CPU. Given these results, we saw no need to include the i7 2600K. When we look at pricing, things all start to fall in place. Currently, the Intel i5 2500K can be had for $214.99 online. The AMD FX-8150 is currently more expensive at $279.99 online. That extra $65 will get you twice the cores, but it won't make up for Bulldozers low gameplay performance. Save your money, get an Intel i5 and overclock it for a better experience.

why are you in amd forum instead of intel forum again, and again in a thread where you can troll about bulldozer ?
