Regretting buying Skyrim - Page 7

one thing I learned is don't get games because other people like them or if they are hyped alot, best bet is to play demo first then buy.
I haven't played skyrim since it's not really my type of game, too many hours used is those games but COD I HATE!

Have you ever played Oblivion? Morrowind? Fallout 3? If you don't like those types of games, then no wonder you don't like Skyrim. But for those who dig those games, Skyrim is a welcome addition to the genre.
Anyway, I just scored a copy on CL for $25! A boxless redbox edition, but still mine to keep and play! Very excited to have finally acquired it!

I liked Fallout NV but hated Oblivion and Fallout 3. Played Morrowind recently for about 10 hours but I couldn't get into it because of the graphics.

You obviously don't have an RPG mindset, any good RPG takes a lot of time and dedication.

Skyrim sucks. I've played it for at least 60 hours but it's not the same. It's just Oblivion 2.0, with a slightly less bland world and the same awful level scaling system.

Give me a less bland world, give me a real sequel to Morrowind!

there is so much to do in skyrim. It is an RPG, so talk to people, look around, and follow the main quest. you`ll end up becoming flooded with quests, and wont know where to start or what to do first. look online where the guilds are, and maybe you`ll have a better time if you try joining quests and follow their quests, they always bring you to interesting places.

It really is a good game, especially when you start gearing your character to meet your play style

I just discovered the Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Dwarven mines, and had a good time exploring them, finding all the goodies, destroying some spiders and centurions, and having to actually drop some very valuable weapons and armor to fit even more valuable weapons and armor. Forgot what the official name of it was... it was near Frostflow Lighthouse though.

Also, question: If you sell something to a shop keeper, does it disappear from the game? Or does it stay with the shop owner? Or does someone else potentially buy it from the shop owner, so it is still in the game, but you have no idea where? Just wondering, in case I want to find that glass mace I sold at some future point in the game.

yea, usually when you sell something to a shop keeper, they will have it, so you can most likely go back to it, but i wouldnt worry too much, you can find much better then a glass mace. Depending on your character you can smith your own weapons, and make some nice daedric stuff/

Yep this is what happened to me as well. I loved Oblivion but its a chore to play Skyrim. It just seems like everything isn't very exciting. Hard to explain but BF3 is definitely the opposite. biggrin.gif

I had to stop reading half way through the thread just to say I feel exactly the same way! I also dont like how you just wander around then you hear mr. giant run up behind you and swat you like a fly...

I learned my lesson with Oblivion..... I will still give credit to the dev's for what you get to do and the story but I just could not get into that game.
