MALIK, congrats!!!

PSYSIDE,

Corsair Performance pro = Plextor M2P
Corsair Performance Pro > Plextor M3
Corsair Performance pro < Plextor M3P

The Plextor M3P is the fastest of the bunch. It's got the better firmware and faster NAND. It also comes with a 5 years warranty instead of 3 like Corsair.
That being said, it's also more expensive. That being said, would you notice the difference, no.

I'm not a fan of Tom'shardware at all, but this review tests those:

Corsair Performance Pro 128 GB (CSSD-P128GBP-BK)
Crucial m4 64 GB (CT064M4SSD2)
Crucial m4 128 GB CT128M4SSD2)
OCZ Octane 128 GB (OCT1-25SAT3-128G)
Plextor M3 64 GB (PX-64M3)
Plextor M3 128 GB (PX-128M3)
Plextor M3 Pro 128 GB (PX-128M3P)

might be interesting!

I payed $179 for my Corsair Performance Pro 128GB, and I love it! The Plextor M3P 128GB was at $239...and it was the best price....

Yes,

I noticed that in the last 2 weeks, the SSD prices dropped quite a bit. There is an war between the major SSD makers and the smaller/newer players in this industry...the big ones are trying to starve the small guys...

For what it's worth, on DIGITIMES:

Plextor M3 Pro is a bit better..not really that much of a difference. Both these SDDs are very similar..almost identical. But the Plextor M3 Pro costs about $85 more, as of today. 5 year warranty though, instead of 3 years.

Yeah tell me about...tempting to grab one: http://www.buy.com/prod/crucial-m4-256gb-2-5-sata-iii-solid-state-drive-ssd/221150375.html

But I'm still willing to pay a premium for my Corsair Performance Pro...to a certain degree.

Yeah, right now Plextor has a better firmware - hence the slight bump in speed over Corsair. But I'm pretty sure Corsair has the better NAND chip. It's a 32/34nm vs Plextors 24 nm Toshiba Toggle NAND. So I *think* it's potential is slight better...though I could be totally wrong.

In regard with NAND, the newer 25nm toggle NAND is a little faster I think, but the word is that the 34nm older variety is supposed to be a little more robust...(read long long term)...but apparently Plextor trust his NAND for 5 years, so there must be no big difference...

All in all I think we're getting a little spoiled, we're here discussing differences between top of the line drives after all.
It never ends...now I'm looking at better GFX cards....and a monitor....and more RAM.....redface.gif
