The threshold to qualify for EVGA bucks is 350k/month ~ 11,666 ppd.
EVGA has double the folders above 10k ppd. I don't think its any coincidence that EVGA has so many more folders than we do at the same level of ppd that it takes to get the incentive.

Yes, I agree they do and it's making a difference ... but, is it THE difference. Heck, add 500 more folders @ 350,000 PPMonth to OCN's total ... is it anywhere close to EVGA's total? Nope ...

I wonder what a comparison of the top 100 folders at each team would show ... and you'd probably have to go back a month or so. Since Stanford's -bigadv announcement, some of EVGA's big producers have been pulling their rigs down and switching production to WCG.

at the end of that time, if all of them are still folding and they produced 10 million points total

randomize.com will choose one of them to win cool computer part

Now, realistically, they probably cannot all stay folding (hopefully they do), so this could be run every month without giving away too much stuff

It won't be easy, and it is a longer contest, so it won't attract too many people. but there will be lots of f@h exposure because of the free computer part, and people talking in the thread will be bumping it a lot, so people will come. Just tile the thread "Free GTX 560 ti Contest - from OCN f@h" or something.

Also, people will be disappointed that not the part isn't be given away, so it must be clear that it isn't a guaranteed thing. But, like most are, they will be hooked by the middle of the contest, and so will stay folding. thumb.gif

what do you think?

I think two months would be better. Oh wait...

No as in I will be walking out of my work with a Dell R900 4P 4U server for $300. We were "recycling" them to some other company who was paying us $300 for them. The IT director said we had 10 of them ready to go on the truck but offered them up for the same $300 to those of us in IT. I asked him what the processors were inside them and that is what he responded with. I have not had time to check out the server yet as they are locked inside the server rooms that only upper level management has access to. But I know for a fact they are 7 series Xeons, and that there will be 4 of them.

I will probably know more on Monday. Keep in mind this is the same place where I picked up 2 2950 Dells with 2x 5110s for $35 each. I picked up 2x 2900s with 2x 5410s for $70 each and 1950 with 2x 5310s for $50 each. At the time I bought the 2950s there was 20 more of them that we sent to the recycling center because nobody else wanted them. If they didn't perform so poorly for folding I would be keeping most of them. So I am just blowing them out on Craigslist because shipping on them is way to much.

Sweet... thumb.gif
Its cool to recycle rolleyes.gif

one note... it will drink power...
I recommend a killawatt meter if you don't have one so you can know what to expect on your electricity bill.
