My GTX 280 does the same thing. I would also like to know what it means.

What type of squeaking? Is it a high pitch frequency? If so thats one of your capacitor dieing. Maybe its just your fan, do you clean the card? Tighten up all the screws and do some maintenance on it.

When i game , and my GPU's usage is high than sometimes i hear a really high pitched noise coming from my Videocard .
I am cleaning the card regulary (once per month , compressed air) , and apply new thermal grease/pads in every half year .

Its the capacitors on your video card. My 295GTX would do it too. Its annoying but not a problem. Sometimes capacitors just make a high pitch noise, nothing u can do about it.
