I heard that PLS is Samsung's version of IPS. Pretty sure there isn't a large enough difference to justify a PLS over IPS, don't quote me on that though. I'm no expert tongue.gif

I had always wanted the Dell U3011 Oringally...But I opted for the u2711 and its the perfect size. The pixel density is also slighly higher on the u2711. If remeber correctly.

If I'm going to fork out that much money for a 27" monitor it better have all the similar specs that a lot of the other monitors in that size and price range have. The U2711 for example has I believe a 12-bit look up table (correct me if I'm wrong) for color reproduction to give it the 1.07 billion possible colors.
