[PCG] Star Wars: The Old Republic testers play for nine million hours in one weekend - Page 2

I must admit I did have a lot of fun.

One question though, does the character you created carry over into the game?

For what ever reason...graphically the game ran much better this last weekend over the previous weekend. I was in the same areas and the first time I was getting dips below 30 fps with my sig rig. Last weekend I don't think I dropped under 80 fps...I ended up actually turning V-Sync back on. Every setting maxed out except for AA which was disabled.

Really? you got better framerates in the final weekend? That's odd. I've been running the game for months at >80 FPS with everything maxxed and 4x AA/AF forced, but this weekend those same settings were only getting me max 44 average 28 FPS. Worst part was my CPU and GPU usage were both staying below 40%.

I need a clean install anyways, my game file is bloated up to 37.4GB on my SSD, when it's only supposed to be 18.4 GB when all is said and done.

Mine was bloated up too from the updating a few times, I just uninstalled and deleted all the remaining folders for it afterwards, all space reclaimed. Now waiting for launch biggrin.gif

I had a clean install this last weekend. I uninstalled it from my HDD and put it on my SSD earlier in the week. So that might have had something to do with it.

I didn't think forcing AA worked for this game though. I had 4XAA set at the driver level the whole time, but if there was AA on in the game then aliasing in this game is very, very bad. Or did you mod that config file to enable it? I didn't mess with it as with the limited time window I didn't want to corrupt my install.

However yeah...two weekends ago for example right outside of the Bounty Hunter staring area where all those gang members and large concentration of players were fighting I would hit as low as 20fps...and that would have also been a fresh install from just a day earlier since that was the first time I played the beta. There were a lot of other areas where my fps dropped rather low as well.

Last weekend though I never caught my fps display below 80 and most times I was about 100...it seemed like my character had more detail as well, but the environments looked the same. So I am pretty sure they messed with the graphics some. Only difference was that it was installed on the SSD, but the instances of loading times seemed the same. Same overclocks and the same drivers.

You know what is really going to suck... ? launch day...But, thank god for the early release for some people because that would suck if we all had to get on the Game at once.,..

Didn't think so, thanks. I figured I would ask since I have not seen anything that said they would not.

As for the AA I was really disappointed to not be able to enable it even though it was an option...

I know that over the Thanksgiving weekend, I probably clocked in over 48 hours total ... I played as much as I could... unfortunately real life events prevented me from playing even more than that.

Needless to say, I was never bored while I was playing. smile.gif
