Prize: Dirt 3 download from AMD.

Contest: Make a short post about your favorite fan and why. I will have an example below.

Rules:
You must have 10 rep.
You must provide a link to your favorite fan.
You must have a reason why it's your favorite.

Completion: The contest will conclude when we have about 100 responses or on 12/31/11. The winner will be chosen at random.

I'll get things started:

My favorite fan is the AP181 by Silverstone. Its a great fan because it provides about 100cfm of very directed air at your components. I have used them in my DAS BOX and they work perfectly.

In!

And By Far the Best fan i have ever had came with my CoolerMaster HAF 932!

230 x 30 mm standard fan x 1, 700 RPM, 110 CFM, 19 dBA

Its REALLY quiet, Moves good air and keep my whole PC pretty cool! Its size allows almost full Coverage over every Component, with air blowing past the Chipset as well as top and bottom of GPU, Ram etc.

CoolerMaster HAF 932 Specifications

Granted, I dont know who actually makes the big Side Fan , but I love it

Count me in, please. My favorite is the Cooler Master SickleFlow 120 in green flavor. They are pretty quiet at 19dB-A and flow a nice 69 CFM. The green LEDs looks so cool curved in to the center.

Scythe Gentle Typhoon 1800 rpm. First of all because it's availible here in Poland, where the choice is very limited. Other than that it's performance/price ratio is really good

My favorite fan is the Delta 60mm Black Label because i'm old school. I used to have FOUR of these on my old Alpha cooler mounted to my PIII 933 and it was a record holding clock for a while. Sure, it made my PC sound like a hair salon but it was the only real air mover available at the time.

Hi my Favorite fan is the kawahori:
272
Around 1100 years ago, this fan was called [ Kawahori - bat]. This derivation came from its shape when unfold this fan, looked like a Bat. At that time, these fans were used only by priests, nobles, and oracles. But it was not allowed to be used by the citizens. In court palace, Japanese Folding Fans were used as a love letter instead of usual paper. The fan was passed with perfumed to the person who liked it very much. Like this, the fan was a romantic property.

am I doing it right?

My favorite fan...
Heh, where do I begin?

It was 15 years ago that I first met Mariah. She was beige, blocky, and full of possibilities. The flashy new girl in town that everybody wanted to be with. Brains, looks, and money. Mariah had it all. Yet, by some glorious twist of fate, we fell in love.

I promised her we'd see the entire World Wide Web together. Each night, I would cradle all 45 pounds of her on my lap as we chased hyperlink after hyperlink. From .com to .gov, we did it all. There wasn't a single firewall or a trojan out there that could keep us apart. No matter what I clicked, she was always up for more.
She was insatiable.

One night, after a particularly strenuous browsing session, she made a little yelp. "How cute", I said as I affectionately stroked her warm chassis. It wasn't uncommon for her to make little squeals of joy when we were spending time together, she did it all the time. I found it comforting to know I made her as happy as she made me. Several minutes later, she lets out another yelp. This one was much louder than the previous one and gave me quite a shock. "Mariah?" I whispered to her in a concerned tone. It was getting late, perhaps she just needed to rest for the night. After all, she was no longer the spry 200 Mhz gal she was in her youth. We both knew getting old would be a natural part of our relationship. Of course, that didn't mean we were going to let it happen easily . A springy new mouse, a shiny new screen, and a thorough dusting every 2 weeks. These are all the things Mariah wanted, and I was more than happy to oblige. Although, I always thought she was beautiful just the way she was.

Snapping out of my nostalgic haze, I quickly made the necessary clicks to ensure a speedy shutdown.

Menu.
System disk.
Eject.
Shut Do......

But it was too late.
Mariah's final cry of anguish rocked the entire house as she collapsed into a heap before my eyes. My one true love of seven years was gone forever.

After spending the next decade in a depressed slump, I decide to investigate her killer. The part that drove a wedge between me and the greatest connection I'd ever known. Through angry tears, I dissected my once lively bride, determined to find the cause of my lifelong sorrow. Two days later, I came face to face with the beast who had done this to me.

The fan.

Since that day, I vowed never to be a victim again. That my lifelong pursuit to regain my will to love would return in full force. All of these desires came to fruition, when I found the Noctua Nf-P12. Each time it's blade spun, I felt as if I was being kissed by my own Mariah. Sometimes, when it's late, I can even hear her whispering through the hushed breezes. It's silence gave me the chance to think about all that I had lost, but more importantly, all that I still had. My memories of her will live on forever and it's all thanks to Noctua.

It made my life worth living again.
