My msi gtx 480 lightnings are only little bit better than these, but consumes a lot more power. If new amd 7000 series aren't good enough, I might grab a evga 560ti 448 classified.

these are limited run cards they may not be around past january

i thought evga carries tons of classified GPUs.
They still have classified gtx 590 and I thought that was also limited editions.

Oh christ I would never overclock that high. I'm happy with it's performance at 900Mhz ....plus I have to get 2 years out of this card redface.gif

Well I got to thoroughly test out my MSI 448 last night, unfortunately I am a bit underwhelmed. The stock volts are 1.037 under load (0.912 at idle) and the card will not overclock stable past about 890 or so. Temps are not a problem, 34C at idle and max out at 67C. I am very pleased with the cooler and its sound level, I don't hear it at idle and it is slightly louder than the rest of my components when I load up the gpu.

It clocked up to 850 with +18 mV, 875 with about +40 mV, 890 with about +60 mV. At 900 up to 920 (didn't go further) I can keep adding voltage but it will continue to artifact and my frames studder in both Heaven and Kombuster (basically the rendering is not smooth). Also when I go past about +60 mV the board starts buzzing not super loud but I can hear it over the fans and hard drives in my case ( I assume this is likely the vrms). I tried both the 290.36 beta drivers and the ones on the CD with the same results. I am considering returning it for a replacement or just using it for a couple weeks then return and buy a higher bin card (570 or equal radeon).

On a side note this is my first DX11 card and the difference in visuals between this card and my gtx 280 (DX9) is night and day; never knew what i was missing.

Sorry you're underwhelmed frown.gif

The GTX 570's reference core clock is 732Mhz, so if you compare you're 890Mhz to that then you got a very respectable overclock. When I ran my card to 960Mhz it was just to run 3DMark, I play BF3 and my other games at 880Mhz core with the default 1.025v, and my gaming experience is very good. If you do decide to get a 570 instead, take into consideration that many of those cards do not overclock even as high as 890Mhz... so you could actually end up boned if a high overclock is the only thing you're after.

Earlier today I wrote a huge ass reply to your post, but the forums were broke and swallowed it when I hit the submit button(I was pisssed).

Most 570s hit 900 core pretty easily. Check the 570 ocing thread.

You did, however that was from an OC of 950core haha and my i5-2500k @ 4.2Ghz. For around stock the GPU scores around his mark.
