Any Good reccomendations out there?
Must be less than 300 =)
I liek the idea of this Gigabyte

price wise and the Game and the Cooling looks useful, but is it efficient? Im very used to the Fan Sux in Air at one end of card, and exchausts out the back of the Case - with this, it doesnt look like the expelled heat goes anywhere but up into the where I dont want the heat to be lol

If you're gonna stick with air, I'd say go MSI. If you plan on putting it under water, go EVGA. The TwinFrozr III is fantastic. band.gif

Anyone else experience this or no of a solution? gigabyte cards crap perhaps?

That is very odd. I am using the same mobo you are. Let me run a test or 2 and see.

What settings did you use in furmark? I want to see if maybe it is a mobo thing....

Holy Sh!^!!! I ran furmark at stock settings. I did the 1920 x 1080 benchmark. Both GPU stayed at 97 - 99 % load. My water cooled GPU never went over 47. My one with the stock air cooler was at 85 when I stopped the test.

Ran at 800/1600, but was on stock voltages. Both cards were steady at 99 % out put. Did not gain any frames either.

I guess my theory of it being a mobo issue might be squashed.

IS there a way to set a user defined fan control graph like in AB like there is in EVGA precision? My air cooled card was not kicking the fan anywhere near what it should have been.

Running air on 1 card because I have not had time to install the WB on the new card....

Oh yeah, also, how do you tell which card it is calling the master card in SLI? Is there like a address or something that I can reference to something on after burner. OR, do the mobos always set the top PCIe slot to the master?

Just put my second card under water, the aircoolerdectomy and replacement waterblock surgery was successful. At stock classy/FTW edition clocks, the primary card hit 38c and the second hit 36c while running Heaven. I has a happy smile.gif

nice! then you put in a beefy overclock, and watch the temps barely go up...then you'll be in bliss wink.gif

Yes. Just click settings from the ab adjustment. The option settings are identical between the two. Just mainly a different skin/look

The MSI Twin Frozer III Doe slook pretty BA - but I wonder if it will raise temps on my CPU since it doesnt vent out the back =/

How come some of these have a back plate and some dont - what is the purpose? Ive never had a card with one

I've done MIR with MSI over a year ago with my 6870. Expect it to take six to eight weeks. As long as you follow the MIR directions to the tee you'll be fine. Keep photo copies for your records in case they're lost. Receipt, USP bar code, etc to play it safe.
