That is the Asus 448.

No two cards are identical. We couldn't tell you even if we wanted to. Monitor your temps. Most of us like to keep things below 80C max. Increase clockspeed and voltage accordingly.

my gpus are watercooled, and they don't go above 55C max.

maybe 830-850mhz without upping the voltage. You are limited to 1.1V max without modding the bios. Its hard to say though, voltage increase is not linear with clock increase, its one of those try it and see things. Just get msi afterburner with afterburner or evga precision with oc scanner and go in 10mhz steps and keep testing (try heaven 3.0 and 3dmark11 also, both free). dont mess with the memory until you find a nice stable OC on the core.

I think all of the 448's can at least hit mid 800's no prob. The max is varied though. Some 875mhz, some over 1GHz. My personal card has peaked at 996mhz at 1.1v-core, 2250mhz memory. lol so close to 1ghz wink.gif I only game 24/7 at 925mhz @ 1.063v, memory at 2150mhz

I forgot to add, keep an eye on your temps and be sure to increase fan speed as needed. some of us with crazy OC's are using better cooling to get there wink.gif

Ok guys,
I did some research to find out why I'm hitting a hard wall at 985MHz, when Sonda seems to be able to fly past 1GHz with ease...
I think that it's because of OCP/OVP on the CHiL 8266 controller on the GTX480 PCB's.
I'm also worried that the GTX480 PCB was simply never intended to reach 1GHz+ speeds. Googling around there are very few people who succeeded.

I'm going to give this a try tonight:
http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showpost.php?p=2452295&postcount=11

Hopefully it will disable OCP/OVP.

Otherwise, I'm going to give this a shot:
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?251935-nVIDIA-reference-GeForce-GTX-480-Mods

It's a GTX 480 softmod for the CHiL 8266 that removes OCP/OVP.

Update:

EVGA FTW
Stock voltage 1.038v
Wall: 860-865mhz

Question:
I'm using Precision X & OC Scanner and my stress tests unexpectedly exit AND my Artifact Count is still 0! Why would that happen?

Edit*
I had to bump voltage up to 1.038v ~ 1.088v to go from 779 --> 860 --> 890(900 crashes, so somewhere here)

I see the max is one notch up, 1.1v
What's the consensus of opinions on 24/7 usage and max 1.1v?

*Would a spreadsheet help in keeping track of voltages and speeds? tongue.gif

Do you know if my card has the Chil 8266?

Hope this works out for you and everyone else.

I wouldnt go over 1.1v because the FTW version only has 4 vrm's... Where the classified version has 6 vrm's.

1.1 volts is fine i think, I was doing 1.14something for a few days to test 970mhz.

That is the Asus 448.

From this thread, the MSI froozer one seems to have the highest oc and def has the best stock cooling. The EVGA classified and classified ultras seem to be next. If you want to water cool, it is alot easier to go with the EVGA cards.

But yes, every card is different.
