One degree change in the room temp can make the graphics card instable if you're at the absolute limit. I usually start with bigger (say 25-50MHz) increments, and then move to smaller ones (5-10MHz) once I reach close to what other people are getting. After you find the limit it's easy to pull back a bit (maybe 30-ish MHz?), thus give the card a bit of "safe zone" if you will. This is what I do for each setting (core, shader, memory) individually.

I'm really wondering if the classy ultra cards have the same mhz wall on the core that the non ultra ones have.

Not sure. I didn't get to play around with it too much before I left for vacation, bit I had it up to 900 core, 2k mem on stock v (1.05) . I'll keep you guys posted on what I can take it up to when I get home later this week!

That's about on par with my regular classified... 897 MHz on 1.050 volts stock overclock.

Picking your brains, what kind of core clocks are people getting around 1.1v?
Classifieds are usually able to get 940+ at that voltage. Not all do but I have seen many that have.

I think you'd be lucky to get 900MHz stable out of a FTW at 1.1v though. Most of them come at 1.050v for 797MHz from what I've seen. Not to mention the less than stellar cooler on that card.

FTW OC:
1. Yea... 900mhz is unstable for me. Get artifacts within a few minutes.
2. What's the % increase that we get off the bat @ 797? I want to have a measure of how much of a gain we get, but since they come preOC'd it seems very measly xD

Shroud:
Seems like shroud might actually be making it run hotter... we'll see!
