GTX 560 Ti 448 core OC Club - Page 213

Sorry to sound noobish, but is it necessary to run the furry test in OC scanner? Or does it suffice to run tessy to test for artifacts? I see the GPU temp skyrocketing to 80°C after 5min of the furry test. 5min of tessy test with same settings only goes up to 68°C.

My card is Gainward GTX 560Ti 448 core, currenty at 850/2000 & 1.000V

if you are primarily gaming, I would suggest Unigine Heaven benchmark and just letting it run in loop mode

This will give you a more realistic result...since Heaven is just as taxing as any DX11 game out there...so what you get in Heaven will be the same or similar stability with another top DX11 title

I think the furry test really pushes the limits of the cards and drives heat up. I agree with steven88. Heaven will be the best way to test stability.

So I overclock and test with Heaven and look for artifacts then. smile.gif Any special setting I need to change or just original settings and then benchmark?

I put anisostrophy to 16x and tessellation on extreme. Seems to be the way we have been testing it.

Finally got the 448 core today! Got it installed with the 301.24 beta drivers and it went smoothly. However I noticed right away it was not downclocking thanks to having a dual monitor setup so I busted out my "backup" 7800gt that has never seen use and plugged it in. So now my 448 core can rest instead of constantly being on a pseudo-load.

I know voltages are different for everyone and from what I have read 1.050v is apparently common for this card. I'm happy to report that Afterburner and GPUZ report my voltage at 1.038v. biggrin.gif I am about to run some quick stock tests to get an idea of the difference in performance compared to my 460's in SLI and then start overclocking it to make up the difference as I'm sure there is some. My main reason for the purchase was the increased VRAM. Nearly double for me.

Incoming pics!

lol, this card definitely gets a little warm compared to my 460's. I had to tweak the fan profile just a little from what I had it set at for my old cards but it still got pretty hot. Running OCCT for a few minutes the card got up to 92c. But my fan speed seemed to be locked at 85%? Does anyone know why that would be?

Anyways, that was OCCT. My idle temps are around 44c right now but my ambient is higher than normal right now. My CPU is about 7c warmer than it usually is. So I'd guess idle will hover around 37c on my 448 core.

It's not uncommon for manufacturers to not let their fans run at 100%, that's why you hear of people modding the BIOS to unlock lower or higher fan speeds.

Good luck keeping it cool, and before you ask yes there is like 1 aftermarket cooler that works on this card but I don't remember which it was.

Oh well it's not that big of a deal. It won't be reaching over 85% under normal usage anyways. OCCT is an exception.

Anyways, I've done some more tests and managed to get 800mhz core stable at only 1.0v. Did both tests with OCCT and ran the Unigine benchmark all without hitches. Max temps in OCCT were 90c and max temp in Unigine barely hit 70c. My score in Unigine was about 120 less than my 460's in SLI. So I got some overclocking to do!
